AWARDED THE 1st MIAP FINALISTS
The jury of the 1st MIAP met at the Umbrian village of Lizori: President of the Antonio Meneghetti Scientific and Humanistic Research Foundation, Pamela Bernabei (president of the jury itself); art critic Ermanno Tedeschi; Confindustria Vice President for Internationalization Licia Mattioli; Director of the Brera Academy of Fine Arts Franco Marrocco; Director of the Shanghai Sculpture Center, Masayuki Koorida; Director of the Göppingen Kunsthalle Museum, Werner Meyer and then Bruna Biamino, coordinator of the Department of Photography of the IED in Turin; Tom Moran, Chief Curator of the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, New Jersey; Riccardo Cordero, sculptor, artist, former professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Turin.
The 37 works selected for the final phase are shown in a beautiful catalog and are now on display in an exhibition at the village: a path full of suggestions and different ways of interpreting that appeal to beauty – in art and in life – to which the prize aimed at stimulating the artists’sensitivity.
The jury identified the four winners in the Italian Paolo Amico for the painting section, in Sophie Muhlmann (also from Italy) for the fashion section, in Arnd Christian Muller (Germany) for the sculpture section and in Lygia De Almeida (Brazil) for the design section. Three areas have been chosen for the 2019 edition of MIAP. “Man and his art as a harmony of life” is the theme that the artists will have to deal with.
The announcement is ready and you can also consult it on these pages. Lizori is waiting for artists from all latitudes again.
