Presentation of the book “Psychotherapy for Ischemic Heart Disease. An Evidence-based Clinical Approach”

Saturday 29 October, the book “Psychotherapy for Ischemic Heart Disease. An Evidence-based Clinical Approach” was presented at the Palazzo Ducale in the Medieval hamlet of Lizori, in Borgo San Benedetto, Campello sul Clitunno.

The event was supported by the Antonio Meneghetti Scientific and Humanistic Research Foundation and by AIO – Associazione Internazionale Ontopsicologia and the round table was conducted by Ms. Adriana Roncella, who also curated the book along with Mr. Christian Pristipino. The presentation was attended by numerous guests, including a number of medicine and psychology experts. In 2014 Ms. Roncella was awarded the Meneghetti Medicine Prize for her project “One-year results of the randomized, controlled, short-term psychotherapy in acute myocardial infarction (STEP-IN-AMI) trial, Roncella A., Pristipino C., et al. International Journal of Cardiology, 2013”; following two years of work and thanks to the collaboration of a number of colleagues from all over the world, this book represents their fruitful outcome; it shows how the methodological aspect related to the ontopsychological approach, along with scientific evidences, is used for the first time in cardiology. Numerous speeches added to the presentation, each one through the lens of its lecturer, all presenting further evidences of such fertile integration between medicine and psychology in Cardiology.After the conclusions of this meeting, guests were able to visit the hamlet and taste the delicacies of Lizori’s Bottega del Gusto.
